Winter Warmer raffle bounty: A taste of our very own homegrown goodness Our volunteers pieced together a Winter Warmer raffle prize that shows just how bountiful the allotment continues to be even in the colder period – check out this basket brimming with homegrown treasures! From luscious chutneys to aromatic herbs, hearty potatoes, and an array of seeds, it's a true testament to the fruitful efforts of our budding gardeners. Christmas wreath making: crafting joy and festive spirit Adding a sprinkle of holiday cheer to our allotment activities, we recently hosted a Christmas wreath-making session. Enthusiastic participants gathered to craft beautiful wreaths using simple cuts of holly, ivy and more. It was lovely to get together for a festive activity under the warmth of our polytunnel, and we're impressed by the results! Get involved with our allotment, and cultivate your mental wellbeing in the fresh air.
Every Monday from 12-2, our allotment welcomes everyone to Pye Nest, where the invigorating fresh air acts as a tonic for the soul. The new polytunnel provides a retreat from the wind that makes it feel quite cosy, especially when paired with a hot cuppa. It's more than cultivating crops; it's about fostering a sense of community, building connections, and sowing the seeds of joy even in winter's frosty grasp. And - no experience is necessary at all! If you're inspired to be part of our winter allotment adventures or contribute to our growing community, reach out to the Like Minds team at [email protected].
