Outdoor Wellbeing

Activities to improve your wellbeing.

Come and experience the mental wellbeing benefits of doing fun, relaxing activities outdoors among nature.

We host a range of sessions at our allotment site in Pye Nest, Sowerby Bridge throughout the week, so get in touch and we can work out which of our different wellbeing activities will help you feel better in body and mind.

All our groups are free, and are facilitated by our friendly and experienced volunteers, offering a relaxing space to ease anxiety, relieve stress and help with low mood.

Currently, we run a regular Allotment Group on a Monday afternoon.

If you're interested in joining our activities, please get in touch with Laura our Outdoor Wellbeing worker on 01422 345154 or via [email protected]

FAQs

What are groups and activities?
Like Minds groups are not therapy groups, although you may find attending a group therapeutic.

Like Mind groups are about peer support; people with similar experiences of mental health benefitting from sharing their stories, learning and experiences.
what can i expect at a group?
Some groups are for talking and sharing, other groups focus on an activity. Not everyone feels comfortable speaking in front of others or being in social situations, so think about what might work for you.
How do you keep activities safe?
All of our groups operate from an agreed set of group guidelines which are designed to keep everyone safe, and remind people of what is acceptable behaviour in groups. Our groups are confidential and we expect everyone who attends groups, workers, volunteers and participants to respect each other’s confidentiality.
do i have to pay?
Our groups and activities are free to attend. If you wish to donate to Healthy Minds you are welcome to do so. You can make a donation at: www.healthymindscalderdale.co.uk/donate
how can i join an activity?
If you would like to come to a group you must contact [email protected] or phone us on 01422 345154. We will be able to tell you about the groups, and help you to work out if the group is for you. We can also book you on to a group, and ensure the facilitators know you are planning to attend.

Booking is essential.
