Time Out

Mental Health Education Workshops

Free mental health workshops for schools

At Time Out, we are dedicated to promoting good mental health and wellbeing among children and young people in Calderdale. We offer free mental health sessions in schools as part of the Open Minds Partnership. Our interactive workshops are designed to raise awareness about mental health, combat stigma and address discrimination young people with mental health challenges might face.

We have a well-established track record of providing high quality, dynamic workshops for school groups and have been delivering in Primary and Secondary schools in Calderdale for over 10 years. Our workshop leaders are skilled facilitators with in-depth experience and understanding of children's emotional health and wellbeing, and all are DBS checked.
All sessions can be customised to meet the needs of the group and are all co-produced with young people.

What sets our sessions apart is our commitment to co-production. We actively involve young people in the development and delivery of our workshops, ensuring that the content remains relevant, engaging, and reflective of their specific needs. We welcome suggestions from schools and strive to co-produce sessions that address the unique concerns and challenges faced by the students we serve.

Creative wellbeing 6-week courses:

For Key Stages 2 and 3

This is a 6-week programme for groups of 6 - 8 pupils who need some extra support in school, where they can build their confidence in a small, nurturing group lead by one of Time Out’s wellbeing practitioners.

During the weekly 1.5/2 hour workshops, participants will have opportunity to learn helpful wellbeing strategies and build their self-esteem and resilience through a range of creative and mindful activities. They will also have the chance to improve their communication skills through group work with others.

To arrange a creative wellbeing course for your school, please email us:

Please note, these courses are in high demand and we recommend booking early in the school year. We offer 1 or 2 courses per school per year.
