Support Groups
"I am able to express the reality of my emotions, as opposed to what society expects. I don't feel obliged to say I'm fine. I don't have to put a face on." |
"It's like a light at the end of the tunnel." |
"It's a space where you can process your thoughts out loud without judgement and it can lead to better understanding." |
Healthy Minds Support Groups are for anyone who is experiencing emotional distress. People are free to talk about their own mental health - or not: the support group gives space to make that choice. The groups are informal and relaxed. They are 'peer support' groups (meaning people get support from each other), not therapy groups, although, for some, they may have a therapeutic benefit. All groups are led by a facilitator or co-facilitators whose role is to encourage the group to develop and flourish in a safe, non-judgemental and inclusive way.
We have a number of support groups covering particular mental health & wellbeing needs.
We also have a number of activity groups, giving people who have experience of mental distress the opportunity to come together to socialise in shared activities. Click here for a full schedule of whats on.

Activity Groups
All of our activity groups are currently on hold. We are looking at some outdoor activities, like our allotments and walking groups, becoming available during August / September, when we are confident that this can be done safely. There will have to be restrictions on numbers and people will need to book places on these activities. We’ll announce arrangements once the details are worked out.
