We've joined forces with Rest and Embodiment Coach, Alys Jenkins, for Mental Health Awareness Week!

Whether you choose to take on the 5-day challenge or join in a virtual workshop (...or both), you'll have access to professional Embodiment Coaching that will help you unwind your mind by unwinding your body.

Are you up for it? Read on to find out how you can take part!
Calm Body, Healthy Mind 5-Day Challenge
Monday May 15th – Fri May 19th

Healthy Minds will release a short pre-recorded video each day via our YouTube channel and on our social media at 10:00 AM each day.

Join Alys as she guides you through a different body-based practice each day to help you feel calm and make positive changes.
This is for you if:
  • You want an introduction to practical, easy-to-learn, body-based “tools” for helping you unwind anxiety in your body, so you can feel calmer
  • You want the support and momentum of a group challenge, to help you try new things
  • You want access to guided recordings you can continue to practice with after the challenge

This is not for you if:
  • You are not open to exploring the mind-body connection
  • You don’t want to actually try the practices to find out how they feel (we don’t learn to ride a bike by watching other people ride!)

All are welcome, from complete beginners to people already familiar with somatic practices (there’s always something new to learn from the body!).

Join the challenge and find out how to win a One-to-One session with Alys!

DAY ONE:
https://youtu.be/biOHxuBad3k
Today's practice helps you feel less anxious, by changing the way you are breathing.

DAY TWO:
https://youtu.be/1klOpYJnYfg
Today's practice focuses on reducing anxiety by learning to feel sensations in different parts of the body.

DAY THREE:
https://youtu.be/R-U4xA2lkUY
Day 3 of the challenge is a guided shaking practice. Anxiety is part of the flight/fight response and shaking can help dissipate this mobilising energy, helping you feel calmer and more at ease.

DAY FOUR:
https://youtu.be/ruWc0nG_2HE
In today's video we practice self-havening, a gentle self touch practice. Offering gentle, soothing touch to ourselves, can help reduce anxiety and increase feelings of calm and ease.

DAY FIVE:  https://youtu.be/W7b5AmIcxcQ
Today's practice is ABC Centring. It helps build awareness of how you are and what you can feel in your body, and helps increase a feeling of calm and ease by relaxing the centre line of your body.

Join Rest and Embodiment Coach, Alys Jenkins, and learn:
  • how to recognise your habitual places of holding tension and anxiety in the body
  • how to make small adjustments within your body, so that you can feel less anxious and more at ease

The workshop will be in 2 halves. During the first part, Alys will share body-based skills to help you reduce anxiety and feel calmer.

During the short break there will be the option to leave the workshop.
The second half will be interactive, using breakout rooms, with the opportunity to reflect on your experiences, share with others, and learn further skills.

Without wanting to exclude anyone, this stand-alone, group workshop is not the right setting for people currently in crisis, or for people with a lot of unresolved trauma. If you are not sure please arrange to talk to Alys before registering for the workshop.
