Who are Recovery and Support Services for? Recovery and support services are for adults in Calderdale who feel they need support with emotional wellbeing. You do not need a referral or a diagnosis. Our services are free and open to anyone. You will need to speak with one of our workers to find out if our services are for you.
Is this the right support for you?
Is this the right support for you? Peer support groups are not therapy groups, but they may have a therapeutic benefit. If you feel you need counselling or one to one support, you may need to seek an alternative service.
Do you feel you are able to talk in group?
Talking in groups isn’t for everyone and it may take a few sessions before you feel comfortable sharing with people you don’t know. It’s ok just to listen.
What if I don’t feel comfortable in groups?
We have activity groups and drop-in’s where you can take part in an activity, or just have a cuppa.
Keep yourself safe
You may feel you quickly develop a connection with other people in groups, drop-in’s or workshops. We advise being careful about sharing telephone numbers and social media details, until you feel certain you want to develop a friendship.
