Workshops and courses are created and facilitated by staff and volunteers with personal experience of emotional distress. They are an opportunity to think about and understand yourself better, and to develop skills and resources to support your emotional wellbeing.
We welcome ideas for new workshops as well as which ones you'd like to see repeated.

You, Yourself and Yoga workshop

A ten week on-line yoga course with Healthy Minds.
A regular yoga practice can support our wellbeing; manage stress, and help us understand ourselves, what we think and do.
This ten-week course is an introduction to yoga; focusing on gentle physical movement, breathing, relaxation and meditation.
Some of the themes we will look at are:
Connectedness, self-awareness, working with self-acceptance and compassion, building resilience, focus and concentration, spirituality.
The course will focus on yoga practise – postures, breathing, and meditation, but will involve some discussion and sharing.
Places are limited, so you will need to book in advance, and discuss whether the course is suitable for you.

Food, Fitness & Feeling Good Inside
12th, 19th & 26th January 2021 3 sessions paying attention to the physical – both outside and in. Looking at what we put in our bodies (and why), what we do to our bodies (and how often), and how our outside/inside can often reflect each other! Together we will discover healthy and self compassionate strategies for holistic wellbeing. Thursday 28th January 1.00pm - 3.00pm Do you live with chronic pain or have a long-term health condition? Would you like to live a joyful and fulfilling life? A step by step course designed to help lighten the load of living with pain so that it doesn’t dominate your life.
We will be using the online platform Zoom, so people can attend from the comfort of their home. Booking essential: A £5 suggested donation will help to cover the cost of a copy of the book ‘Mindfulness for Health’ by Vidyamala Burch & Danny Penman, which includes a CD of all guided meditations (normal price £12.50) You will need this book throughout the course and will be yours to keep at the end.
