Volunteering at Healthy Minds
Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring Healthy Minds develop and deliver exceptional services for those experiencing mental distress throughout Calderdale. Many of our volunteers have personal experience of mental distress placing them in an ideal position to understand and support others in the same boat or to challenge the myths and stigma that surround mental illness.
Healthy Minds hopes to provide a volunteering experience that is rewarding and enjoyable whilst developing skills and confidence. All our volunteers receive training and ongoing supervision and support, both in groups and one-to-one. We understand that mental difficulties can be cyclical – one week you may feel fine, one week you might struggle. Don’t let this put you off – we will work closely with you to find a role that feels suited to your own requirements.
All expenses are reimbursed.
