Self-Harm Support Group
September 2016: The Self-Harm Group is not running for the time being. We hope to start up again in a different way in the future.
If you would like to speak to us in the meantime, please call Dianne on 01422 354154 or email email@example.com
See further down this page for details of other support available.
The Self Harm Support Group provides group members with the opportunity to speak openly about their experiences, if they choose to, without the fear of being judged. It is a space to meet others who understand some of the issues faced by someone who self-harms or has in the past.
People can self-refer and attend as little or as often as they wish.
We know it can be daunting to come to a group, especially for the first time, so we can arrange to chat with you on the phone, or meet up with you shortly before the group starts.
The group is facilitated by a paid worker and volunteer who have lived experience of emotional distress and who are familiar with the issues surrounding self-harm. It is a self-help group not a therapy group and runs on a peer support model.
The group is free, although voluntary donations of £1 - £3 towards refreshments and room hire are welcome.
